ECS - Strategic Research Agenda
For the first time, AENEAS, ARTEMIS and EPoSS have joined forces to create a common Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). As ECS becomes ever more vital for Europe’s competitiveness and economic growth, we invite you to discover the crucial insights in this industry-wide ECS-SRA.
This ECS-SRA will be important in shaping the technical future of Europe and in providing a vision of how to move forward. It sets out a common framework for R&D&I by identifying key application areas, challenges, and technology solutions to foster Europe’s transformation to a digital society.
R&D&I in ECS are vital for this digital transformation, calling for major economies of scale, European cross-border cooperation and higher joint investments. At a time when international competition is more intense than ever, Europe needs trustworthy ECS.
By focusing on strategic priorities, the ECS-SRA aims to align and coordinate research policies in Europe; thereby enabling collaborative projects, that bring together large companies, SMEs, research institutes and universities from across the entire ECS value chain, and defining the necessary environment to transform research results into successful solutions.
The ECS-SRA reflects the strength of cooperation between our associations. Over 200 experts from our community contributed to the ECS-SRA along with further valuable feedback from the ECS experts gathered at the European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems 2017 (EFECS 2017). We look forward to seeing its ambitions translated into action and to keeping alive the discussion with all our members as we progress towards Europe’s digital transformation.
